How to Host a Killer Halloween Party

by
Oct 21st, 2013

The signs aren’t that subtle.  The in-your-face pumpkin displays and wide array of orange-and-black decorations at the supermarkets, drug stores, and party supply stores in your area are sending a message to consumers: host a Halloween party in your apartment.  If you are one of the many Americans who considers Halloween among your favorite holidays and are happy to oblige, continue reading this article for some tips that will help you host an unforgettable Halloween party in your luxury apartment home.

Go All Out!

When it comes to planning a costume party, you really can’t get too creative or overdo it.  If you have a tight budget for your party, you don’t need to purchase every decoration that commands your attention when you’re out shopping.  You can also make some of your decorations in your luxury apartment or order an inexpensive Halloween party decor package online.

Plan a Costume Party

To encourage invited guests to dress up for your Halloween party, advertise that a costume party will be held.  To make it fair, commission a few of your unbiased friends to be non-participating judges.  Reward the top three contestants with gift certificates, buckets of candy, or other inexpensive and appropriate prizes.  Other games and events that will help keep your party lively include squash bowling, bobbing for apples, Halloween-themed piñata busting, and pin-the-face-on-the-pumpkin.

Supply Food and Drinks

The fall season is too closely associated with warm, tasty food to have a Halloween party without snacks.  Regardless of whether you choose to cater, kindly request that guests bring a food or beverage item to contribute to a potluck-style buffet table, or cook and prepare treats yourself, ensure that food is present at your party.  And don’t forget the candy!

Make a Playlist

Thanks to the long-lasting popularity of the Halloween celebration, spooky jams abound.  Compile a list of your favorite fear-invoking tunes, and make a playlist for your party.  Alternatively, you can browse the web for your favorite of the many already created open-source Halloween music playlists.

Dress to Impress

As the host or hostess of a Halloween party, it is imperative that your costume is one of the best.  Wearing a creative costume will show your guests how passionate you are about this holiday, and some of that passion may spread to guests who are typically less enthusiastic about Halloween than you are.

Now that you know what ingredients are necessary for hosting a killer Halloween party, there is no reason that your party shouldn’t be a success.  Clean and decorate your apartment, cook or call a caterer, crank up the “Monster Mash,” and your friends and neighbors will leave your party hoping that it becomes an annual thing.  If you have a Live Life + Love Life mantra that you don’t want the cooler temperatures and grayer skies associated with this time of year to hinder in any way, throw a Halloween party in your luxury apartment home.
