Exploding with fantastic places to eat, drink, and play, the culinary scene in Chicago’s River North neighborhood is as vibrant as they come. Roka Akor

Around the corner from AMLI River North on Clark St., the Michelin Guide recommended restaurant Roka Akor rolls some of the finest sushi in the country. Visit for the unparalleled sushi, the excellent steak, or skillfully prepared seafood. Visit for the sleek ambiance.

Mercadito

Tasty tacos, punchy margaritas, and first-rate people watching? If you’re thinking “sign me up,” then you should make a reservation at Mercadito. This trendy, inventive restaurant serves excellent cocktails, much-loved guacamole, and mouthwatering Mexican mains.

El Hefe

El Hefe, a block east of AMLI River North, is another popular Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. El Hefe’s tacos and tortas are pretty hot items, but so are its south-of-the-border style hamburgers and hot dogs, or Hefe Dogs. With nine margaritas to choose from, pairing the perfect drink with your meal is easy.

Hub 51

Two doors down from AMLI River North, Hub 51 is all about feeling out what people like to eat and catering to their tastes. Run by three members of Chicago’s Melman family restaurant dynasty, this (New) American restaurant serves a diverse range of food that includes tacos, sushi, and hummus. The restaurant also has an impressive wine menu, twenty beers on tap, and a handful of carefully selected cocktails.

Reverie

Asian fusion food meets enthusiastic sports viewings at Reverie, the hippest place in River North to watch the game over sashimi or crab rangoon. Where drinks are concerned, the cocktail menu gives you your choice between Asian-inspired (read: sake-containing) beverages and classic American cocktails like the Moscow mule and Grey Goose martini.

Enolo

Are your palates ready for some phenomenal wine? Enolo, the Michelin recommended wine cafe on Clark between Illinois and Hubbard, features a carefully selected wine menu and the wine flight option ensures you can try several fine vintages in one visit. A menu featuring bruschetta, panini, and pasta ensures you won’t go hungry during your next sit-down wine tasting session.

Sunda

Attentive service, modern chic decor, and flavor-blending expertise come together at Sunda, a Michelin recommended New Asian restaurant that’s aroused considerable fanfare in the River North neighborhood. Sunda’s food and cocktail menus marry western ingredients with eastern cooking techniques and vice versa. The results are always impressive.
