Easy Ways to Transform your Apartment Bathroom - AMLI Blog

Just because you are living in an apartment doesn’t mean you can’t spruce up your bathroom to make it something you love. You may not be able to tear everything out and start over, but there are some easy (and inexpensive) ways to transform your apartment bathroom that won’t involve any renovations. We’ve got a few creative things you can do, like adding color, patterns and storage to make your bathroom beautiful and uniquely you.

Decorate with flair

Most apartment bathrooms are painted a basic white, but luckily there is so much you can do to change that—without the hassle of re-painting a room. Add a bold shower curtain, eye-catching artwork, bold towels, a wall collage or a plant on the bathroom counter. With plants, however, be sure to keep in mind the temperature and amount of natural light available. The addition of only one or two of these will greatly transform your apartment bathroom.

Storage

Most apartment bathrooms come with minimal storage, so adding floating shelves or a shower caddie can help add storage space while enhancing appearance. Open shelving can make your space seem less cluttered and create more room for all your stuff. Plus, it all helps you stay organized!

Detailed hooks

In bathrooms and all small spaces, the details are what matter. The right hooks can have a big impact on the way the room looks and feels. Play around with different ideas such as antique towel hooks, or modern shower curtain hooks. No matter what your style is, try to stay consistent. This will help tie the whole room together.

Rugs

Do you wish you had beautiful tile floors? Opt for rugs instead! If you’ve been dreaming of cement tiles, add a rug with similar neutral tones. Or, get crazy and add a bright patterned rug. Don’t limit yourself to traditional bathmats either, real rugs are sometimes exactly what you need to achieve the desired look. Whether you go for small or oversized, rugs are a great way to add texture and personality to your bathroom.

Replace fixtures

Swapping out your bathroom’s fixtures such as faucets, handles and toilet paper roll holders might be easier than you think. Replacing hardware will give your bathroom a touch of style and can get you that much closer to having it look exactly the way you want.

Freestanding furniture

If you have enough space, adding a chair, baskets or bins can give your apartment bathroom some character without touching the nuts and bolts. Freestanding storage comes in so many different textures and materials, such as wicker, rattan or woven plastics that are highly versatile and can hold almost anything from bath essentials to plants.

Lighting

Having the proper lighting is essential to making the most out of any space. Your bathroom should be bright and clean, so ample overhead and task lighting is important. Go for opaque or frosted LED light bulbs to give your room ambient light that’s not too harsh.
